Melanoma
One of the most aggressive skin cancers. Early-stage disease is highly curable surgically.
Subtypes
- Superficial spreading melanoma (~70%).
- Nodular melanoma — fast-growing (15–20%).
- Lentigo maligna melanoma — older patients, sun-exposed sites.
- Acral lentiginous — palms, soles and subungual sites.
- Rare forms (desmoplastic, amelanotic, mucosal, ocular).
Treatment depends on stage, depth of invasion and driver mutations (e.g. BRAF).
Treatment options
Cell therapy
Targets tumours resistant to conventional chemotherapy or radiation and supplies long-term control through immune memory.

Activates the patient’s own immune system and aims it at the tumour. Used alone or in combination.
Read more →Targeted therapy
Acts on the tumour’s molecular targets. Improves efficacy and reduces toxicity.
Read more →Radiation therapy
Uses ionising radiation to damage the DNA of tumour cells, killing them or stopping division.

Used to remove the tumour, debulk, manage complications or obtain tissue for diagnosis.
