Questions & answers
Frequently asked questions
Answers to the most common patient questions about treatment in China, CAR-T therapy and working with Lechu Group.
How do I travel to China for treatment?
You submit a request (phone, messenger, chat or email). We confirm your diagnosis and request medical records. Physicians review the case. You receive medical recommendations and a treatment plan.
Why China?
World leader in CAR-T clinical trial volume. Access to innovative protocols. Lower cost than the US, Israel or Europe. Fast organisational timelines.
How long does case review take?
Usually 3–7 days.
How do I book a consultation?
By phone at +7 915 255 5559 (daily 9:00–21:00), via the chat at the bottom of the page, or via the on-site form — we call back within one hour. On first contact, mention which treatment method you are interested in. We guarantee a reply within one business day.
What documents do you need?
Passport or other ID. Discharge summaries. Lab results (CBC, biochemistry, tumour markers, etc.). Imaging and reports (MRI, CT, ultrasound, X-ray) in digital form. A list of current medications.
What do your services cost?
All Lechu services (consultations, hospital second opinions, case management, translation) are free of charge to patients. You pay only the clinic’s invoice with no markup.
Do you help with visa and travel?
Yes — we accompany the patient end-to-end: document preparation, visa, hotel or apartment for companions. In-hospital interpretation is provided for primary medical consultations and tumour-board reviews.
Can I travel with a relative?
Yes — a companion is recommended.
Is there a language barrier?
No. Coordinators and interpreters accompany patients. Many physicians speak English. We help install translation apps.
What if the treatment is not appropriate?
We will tell you honestly and suggest alternatives where they exist.
Why can we trust you?
14 years’ experience with oncology patients. Direct relationships with the clinics. Full transparency at every stage.
How effective is CAR-T therapy?
Some patients achieve complete remission even when other therapies have failed. Outcomes are individual.
Does CAR-T have side effects?
Yes — cytokine release syndrome (CRS) and neurological reactions. Specialised centres have protocols to manage these.
How long does treatment take?
Every case is individual. For CAR-T: preparation 1–2 weeks, cell manufacturing 2–4 weeks, hospitalisation 4–6 weeks.
What is included in the price?
Typically: initial workup, cell collection and engineering, hospitalisation, cell infusion, monitoring and management of complications.
How much does CAR-T cost?
Depends on diagnosis and clinic. In China: typically USD 50,000–150,000. In the US or Europe: from USD 300,000.
Is it safe?
We work only with vetted, licensed clinics with extensive CAR-T experience.
Can I receive treatment after failed chemotherapy?
Yes — CAR-T is often used in exactly this setting.
Is CAR-T appropriate for all patients?
No. Eligibility is determined individually after review of diagnosis, stage, prior treatment and overall status.
Which cancers are treated with CAR-T?
Most effective in leukaemias, lymphomas and multiple myeloma. Active research in solid tumours and autoimmune disease.
How new is this technology?
CAR-T has been in clinical use since 2017 (FDA approval) and is advancing rapidly, particularly in China.
Is CAR-T chemotherapy?
No. It is a cell therapy. It acts selectively, using the patient’s own immunity.
How does CAR-T work?
Blood is drawn, T-cells are isolated, genetically engineered to attack the tumour, and re-infused — where they find and destroy cancer cells.
What is CAR-T therapy?
An innovative cancer treatment in which the patient’s own T-cells are engineered in the laboratory to recognise and destroy cancer cells.
